[ 研究概要 ] Supported Ni catalysts are frequently utilized for the production of synthesis gas or hydrogen through the reforming of hydrocarbons. Because the reactions are usually performed at temperatures > 1000 K, Ni metal particles supported on the carriers are seriously aggregated. In contrast, silica-coated Ni metal catalysts which are recently developed by our research groups show a high activity and a high stability for the reforming of hydrocarbons, since the Ni metal particles in the catalysts show a high tolerance to the sintering. In addition, the silica-coated Ni catalysts showed a high sustainability to the carbon deposition during the reforming of hydrocarbons.
