[ 研究概要 ] The cell survival after a freeze-thaw process depends on several parameters, e.g. freezing temperatures, cooling rates, and cryoprotective additives. The optimum protocol is determined to utilizes a harmful effect of freezing to destruct malignant tissues in the cryosurgery, while it is designed to minimize the harmful effect and decline the metabolism at low temperatures in the cryopreservation. The objective of this study is to explore the mechanism of freezing injury of cells and tissues. We also intend to develop a simulation tool to determine the protocol of cryosurgery.
