[ 研究概要 ] Viscosity evaluation of molten slag in the liquid solid coexistence condition
Improvement of the functionality of slag is necessary to make the steel making process more efficient. The functionality of a slag is determined by the physical properties (density, surface tension, viscosity etc.) of the molten slag. In order to realistically simulate molten flow and to analyze the reaction kinetics between slag and metal, it is essential to know the viscosity of the slag. The viscosity of slag has traditionally been measured in the liquid phase. However, in commercial steel making, most of slags are used in the solid–liquid coexistence condition. The viscosity in the solid–liquid coexistence condition is very different from the viscosity in liquid phase. The viscosity in the solid–liquid coexistence condition is important, but data is scarce. We measure the viscosity of the molten slag in the liquid solid coexistence condition and evaluate the relationship between the viscosity of slag and the fraction of solid phase.
