[ 研究概要 ] Observation of crystallization behavior by capacitance measurement
Understanding the crystallization behavior of slag and flux is important for determining of the functionality of the slag and flux, because most of slags and fluxes in the steelmaking process are used in the solid–liquid coexistence condition. However, the existing observational methods for crystallization (XRD, SEM, NMR ctc.) can’t continuously analyze the crystallization behavior with decreasing temperature. They can only be used to analyze a quenched sample. In addition, slag and flux are used under the dynamically unstable shear stress condition in the steelmaking process. It is also necessary to research the crystallization behavior under shear stress. By measuring the capacitance of CaO-SiO2-R2O melts, we are able to observe the crystallization behavior continuously. We are researching the crystallization behavior of slag and flux and the influence of shear stress on crystallization behavior.
