[ 研究概要 ] Normally only freshwater organisms are used in toxicological tests of chemical substances and environmental water and there are very few examples of the use of marine production organisms. In this research laboratory, seawater can be used at all times and because the cultivation of marine production of fish species in eggs and fry has been conducted for many years, we have experience and techniques of cultivating many marine production organisms. As a trial to use our cultivation techniques over many years in evaluating environmental influences, a toxicological test method using marine production organisms was developed. Currently, the invertebrate animals Artemia saline, Brachionus plicatilis, and Americamysis bahia are utilized in acute toxicity testing; moreover, the fertilized eggs of the vertebrate Sea Bream are being used to develop a hatching inhibition test.
